In this report and accompanying briefs, Abt Global reviews the cumulative achievements of grantees of JPMorgan Chase’s PRO Neighborhoods Competition, which awarded collaboratives led by Community Development Financial Institutions multi-year grants totaling more than $153 million. These collaboratives, consisting of 134 partner organizations in 28 states, tackled complex challenges in neighborhoods and cities across the country from 2014 to 2024. Together, they made over 37,000 loans and other investments, totaling more than $692 million. Collaboratives also raised additional funds totaling over $1.3 billion and created or preserved over 15,000 jobs and 6,000 housing units.
Among other accomplishments, grantees:
- Expanded and strengthened their balance sheets and financial and organization capacity
- Attracted and deployed state and local funding to address community needs
- Built lasting collaborative partnerships
- Advanced equitable development
- Pivoted and adapted during a time of crisis as community needs changed
