Matthew Sweeney Continues His Partnership with CMS at Abt Global
Matthew Sweeney, Ph.D., is bringing his decade-plus-long relationship with the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to Abt Global as the company’s CMS Client Account Senior Lead. Sweeney has almost 20 years of experience partnering with private organizations and federal agencies to improve access to care and health outcomes for individuals and communities.
Sweeney has led large research and operational projects focused on various dimensions of alternative payment models, including: implementing and validating quality measures, program support for hospital pay-for-performance programs, and advising clients on the design and refinement of their value-based purchasing arrangements. In his new role, he’ll further expand Abt’s capabilities and innovative solutions, from digital modernization to advanced analytic techniques.
Sweeney came to Abt from Mathematica, where he led growth and strategy efforts across multiple client accounts, including CMS, the U.S Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
“As our partnership with CMS continues to flourish, we look forward to Matt bringing his own insights and experience as we grow our collaboration,” said Abt Vice President of Healthcare Services ZeAmma Brathwaite.
Sweeney received his Ph.D. in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University and his B.A. in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
